Daddy's Arms...2008

So I know I haven't posted any drawings in awhile. I have been drawing, just not super big projects. I did this drawing a while ago. I got it from a candid picture I found somewhere. The original baby was quite homely so I made a different baby. I'm not used to doing babies so I'm not quite sure how it turned out. I think the concept is a really cute one and I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out.

8. American Idol-I love watching it with my parents the best, and hearing their crituiques :)

Things That Happened Yesterday:
1. Wore jeans to work for dress down day. Yeah Baby!!!
2. Payed Rent- it was 3 days past due...:/
3. Finished Eating my carton of ice cream for dinner- Farr's Brownies over the Moon...my favorite. This batch tasted a little strawberry-ish for some reason...YUCK!
4. Read Band of Brothers!- Fantastic Book.
5. Read Jesus the Christ- I'm almost done!
6. Had some great, random discussions with my bosses at work.
7. Oriented a new "Team Member" at work...always thrilling.
8. Emptied the garbage in the bathroom-trust me, that was a task.

Places I like to Eat:
1. Costa Vida-yummers! The Sweet Pulled Pork smothered burrito with a side of sour cream is my favorite. I'm salivating just thinking about it.
2. Macey's Service Deli-I love the corn dogs, icecrem, chedder munchers, and pizza sticks the best.
3. Wendy's- Love the frosties.
4. My Grandmums house-she's got lots of fabulous munchies.
5. Rachel's-Her deli bake is amazing
6. On the Border- I love Tex-Mex!
7. Village Inn-They have the best pumpkin pie.
8. Outback Steakhouse-I don't really like steak that much but I love their cheese fries and black bread.

Things I am Looking forward to:
1. JAN 3rd!!! Seriously will it EVER come.
2. Christmas with the fam.
3. A raise...I always love that
4. A time when I can go to school full time
5. When I am married.
6. Heaven-I'm not sucidal I just bet it will be Fabulous!
7. Buying new clothes.
8. Seeing Kayla and Kristen again.

Things on my wish list:
1. A CAR!!! Hopefully I'll be getting one soon.
2. New Clothes, shoes, and purse.
3. A good bang trim.
4. A puppy! I want one SO bad!
5. A hubby... I want that even more :)
6. A flat tummy.
7. Be able to Irish hard shoe well.

Top Ten Strange Animals

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, no excuse...just laziness I guess. So this week I am going to focus on my top ten favorite strange animals. Some of these animals I have known and loved for a long while now and others I have just recently discovered. And by the way I did not make up any of these names...they are for reals.

10. Zorse: The mixture of a Zebra and Horse. To me it just looks like a little horse with stripes...very pretty though.

9. Bullmatian: This is a Dalmation/Bulldog mix. This dog looks like a fat dalmation. Love it! I just love short and squat things. Probably becuase that is a pretty good description of myself.

8. Mini-Cow: This is acutally a mini bull. The little fellow looks like an angry soul. I really want to meet a mini cow someday. And milk one too!

7. Saint Berdoodle: This is a Saint Bernard/Poodle mix. I just love his fuzziness. I just want to give him a BIG hug.

6. Leopon: Leapord/Lion mix. I couldn't really find a very good picture. But I think this animal is so pretty. I love the mane with the spots.

5. Giant Bunny: This bunny is legit...no photoshopping is involved. I've watched a video of him. His owner is a bloke with a british accent. When the bunny hops its like a chubby kangaroo hopping. Once again with the squatness. The bunny and the old fellow look similar in a way.

4. Pomino: This dog is an American Eskimo/Pomeranian mix. This dog just looks so soft and the color is so pretty. And it's got a really cute face.

3. Wolomute: Wolf/Alaskan Malamute mix. I love big dogs, they are my favorite. I remember my Aunt Laurie had a big Alaskan Malamute named Alma. I just loved that dog so much. And mixed with a wolf! Bazam...that's like the jackpot.

2. Liger: Lion/Tiger mix. Despite popular belief these are not mythical creatures. Thanks Napoliean Dynamite for that warped view. Ligers are the biggest cats...and the biggest Liger is named Hercules. He looks so cute and big! I just want sit on his back and go for a ride and give him loves.

1. Mini Horse: The mini horse is a classic in my book. I want to own one, potty train it, and keep it in the house like a big dog. They are just such wonderful delights! You can't help but love them.

Top Ten Weekly

This week I'm going to kick it back old school. I'm going to focus on my Top Ten Disney Channel Original Movies. For those of you who grew up in the nineties you know what I'm talking about. Every month was a whole new adventure. So here they are...hopefully some of you remember these...

10. Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century: For some odd reason I really liked this crazy movie. I liked their plastic outfits, seeing their interpretation of earth in the future, and "Super Nova Girl". Quality things I look for in a movie right there.

9. The Luck of the Irish: I'm pretty sure the main reason I liked this one was that I thought the boy in it was SO attractive. It was filmed in Utah (like many such films), so I enjoyed seeing Lagoon and the Wasatch Mountains. I liked the part at the end where they sing too.

8. Horse Sense: Once again I liked this movie because I loved Joey Lawerence. He was actually good-looking though, so I feel a little more justified. I also just loved the movie too. Good story, good morals and the like. Qualities I really do look for in a movie. Ever since I've seen that movie I 've wanted to work on a ranch.

7. Rip Girls: Mandi and I saw this movie and just loved it so much. I remember after Mandi saw this movie one of her life ambitions was to own a laptop and a digital camera. You're living the dream Mandi (well sort of...that puny laptop doesn't work yet.) And she wanted to go surfing after seeing this movie. I loved the Hawaiian houses and tropical feel.

6. Stepsister From Planet Wierd: Some may ask why this movie was on the list. It has floating bubble head people for crying out loud. But it was the randomness that I loved. There were some stellar lines in that movie. "I fear the wind." I remember watching this at Aunt SandraLee's and Uncle Chris's house and just laughing our little heads off.

5. Model Behavior: One of Justin Timberlakes first and only feature films. I loved the Prince and the Pauper acpect of it all. After watching this movie I wished that Mandi and I had never met and that somehow we could have met up and switched lives, and then I could have been a huge celebrity for a week.

4. Heidi: I didn't even know this was a Disney Channel Origianl Movie until Wikipedia informed me that it was. I loved this movie!!! It was rather long but fantastic. I love when Peter says, "Hi-day". And then there was that asthmatic snobby girl. Good stuff.

3. The Little Kidnappers: Once again didn't know this was a Disney movie. I just love this movie though. The little boys in it were just so adorable. "I'm afeared Harry, I'm afeared." and "He's our baby now Harry." Mandi and Kathi still quote this and fight over who was Harry.

2. Wish Upon A Star: I watched this the other day on YouTube. It was jsut as amazing as I remembered. And yes i admit it, I do find the main guy attractive. Another movie filmed in Utah. Great acting. One of Katherine Heigl's first movies.

1. Susie Q: Wow I love this movie. It has this 50's vibe I just can't get enough of. I watched this one on YouTube the other day as well. I cried three seperate times. Crazy, I know. I just love the end. "(music) Tell her I love her..." "I love you Susie Q". That girl in it is just so cute too, I always wanted to look like her. Oh gut wrenching film!

So there you have it. Another week, another ten. GO DISNEY CHANNEL. And if i may say..."They don't make em' like they used too."

Top Ten Weekly

For this weeks issues I've decided to focus on the Top Ten saddest movies I have ever seen. A little depressing I know, but I've had some good memories crying my eyes out. There's something bonding about being with a bunch of people who have mascara raccoon eyes, runny noses and puffy faces.

These are in order of what made me cry the most...not necessarily my favorites.

Number 10. Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King: There Mandi and I sitting in the dark theater in our beautiful dresses. I'm pretty sure Aaragon was sitting next to me. It was the opening showing, exams were the next day. No one cared. No one studied. This was more important. And Mandi and I were just crying and crying. Especially at the end when Frodo left. I look back now and wonder if my dad was looking at Mandi and I cuddling and crying. Hmmmm....

Number 9. Gladiator: I'd always heard this was a great movie, but had never seen it. Then in Germany I watched it with my family. I'm pretty sure Isaac was there too, so he saw me bawling as well. The saddest part of that movie was when he's reaching for the doors and she says..."Go to them." So tragic. Good ending though.

Number 8. PS I Love You: I was with my wonderful friend Anna for this one. I cried all the way through, but the saddest part was the last letter he wrote to her, were it says something like: "You were my life, my whole life. But I was just a part of yours. You have to go on living." and then at the end he signs it. "PS I will always love you." I'm going to cry just thinking about it.
Number 7. Pearl Harbor: So the first time I saw this was the day after David got home from his mission. We all went to Pearl Harbor as a family. I just remember I started crying when Rafe left the first time and didn't stop until about 8 hours later that night. I also remembering cuddling into my dad and crying. Poor, poor man.

Number 6. Titanic: I don't especially like this movie but I must have liked it a little because I was bawling like a small child. I remember that Rachel was living with us and I didn't know her that well. And I remember her looking at Mandi and I like we were looney because of the howls that were coming from our swollen red faces.

Number 5. The Joseph Smith Movie: This movie is just amazing! Watching this movie was the first time I ever really appreciated Joseph Smith. I can't say enough about this movie. It is my favorite of all time. I was crying all the way through. I went into the theater pretty, happy and excited...I came out wet, limp and sad (ooo... I sound like a noodle.)

This was the best picture I could find.

Number 4. A Walk To Remember: I watched this movie for a Young Women's activity at my Aunt SandraLee's house in Maryland. Thank goodness all of us were crying. This was the first time in my life I did that sissy little fan thing with my hands. I could barely see my eyes were so swollen. There is something so sad about a young life ending. The saddest part for me...when he says, "Jamie's love for me is like the wind...I can't see it, but I can feel it."

Number 3. Dad: Kathi and Mandi you know...you know. I watched this one when I was little. Its about an old grandpa who slowly dies. It is a heartbreaking movie. It makes my stomach hurt just thinking about it. Good times with Kathi and Mandi though.

Number 2. Romeo and Juliet: This one sticks out in my head because Veronica, Mandi and I discovered we sounded like a symphony when we cried really hard. I mastered the cough sobs, the ones that sound like you've got a loogie in your throat. Mandi had the short little howls, kind-of like a homeless baby wolf. And Veronica had the long drawn out cries. Unfortunately someone walked in on our little symphony, a little embarrassing.

AND....

Number 1. Charley: I don't even really like this movie but the first time I saw it I CRIED! My face was swollen to the size of a large melon. My mascara literally covered my face. And my neck was stinging from were my tears were streaming down. Mandi and I (once again it was us two) were laying on the floor in Rachel's apartment in Texas. I cried the most when she moves the mattress to sleep by her son and then when he finally says her name. I just remember looking in the mirror after I was done with the movie and barely recognizing myself. Crazy times!


So now ya'll know about my crazy crying habits. If you ever want to see me loose just turn on one of these movies.

Damian Lewis...2008

For you curious souls...especially you Kristin. This is Damian Lewis. It is a screen shot from the movie Band of Brothers. I drew this because I think this guy is a stud muffin. He has red hair and yet he is still wundabar. Band of Brothers are my favorite films ever. The previous drawing I did was from this movie too. In the movie Damian Lewis plays Maj. Winters who is such a great leader. I mostly like the way this turned out. The shading looks a little splotchy. But overall I like it. I want my next one to be color. AAAAH!
