Flower Hair 2009

Once again this is an advertisement from People magazine. I think its for Shampoo. The hair is supposed to be half flower. I really love this drawing. I think it looks a lot smoother than some of my drawings. And I love the hair! I'm getting excited that my hair is improving!

Baby Feet 2009

I bought People's Sexiest Man Alive for some things to draw, and so far I've only drawn advertisements. This is the advertisement (said in British accent) for some sort of lotion. I just thought it was cute. Once again I used my trusty mechanical pencil and finger for smearing. I drew on Thanksgiving, which by the way was fabulous, even though I fell asleep for the pie-eating part. :(

"Goodness the whole room is crawling with men."

I am just continually amazed at the number of good looking young gentlemen on BYU campus. That may sound shallow...but it is the truth. On my way back from the bathroom in the library I campus I passed 4 very good looking young men. I think I've been ruined for life. No matter where I go now I will always expect this kind-of thing. :(

I saw this on the "My Life is Average" blog.

Today, I was walking out of a mall. I saw an old man riding on the back of a shopping cart down the wheelchair ramp outside, screaming "YOU'LL NEVER CATCH ME ALIVE!!" while a little boy ran after him yelling "GRANDPA STOP!" It made my week. MLIA

It Still Fits!

I sound like a 50 year old (no offense mums) in the blog title. What I am referring to is the poodle skirt my mom made me in 6th grade. It still fits me! So I wore it this year for All Hallow's Eve. The fact that the waist is elastic probably helped my prospects.

Apparently I don't keep a very clean kitchen. Actually this is just a stove at one of my guy friends apartments.

And here are Mandi and Little Ben. Mandi made both costumes.

I just love it! I love Robin's white sneakers and Maid Marian's chacos the best.

The dress Mandi made is gorgeous I just love it!

Sleeping...2008

I drew this awhile ago but just found it in one of my sketch books. I just pictures of different people sleeping. I like the whole callage thing.

Random Fact: Ummmm...My highlights are growing out...that's all I've got.

Celebrity Eyes

So a while ago I decided to do some color...so I looked up different movie stars and drew their eyes. I just used color pencils.

You should try and see if you can cover the names and guess who the celebrity is.

Little Random Fact: I am living at my friends house this semester and we share a room. We also share the room with six kittens!!!

My friend signed up to foster pets for the Humane Society...hence the kittens. They are really cute but they smell real bad and one bit my eye lid the other day.

ANTM

Four beautiful girls (and cary and dave) stand before me. Girls (and cary and dave) who have so much talent. But only one can go on in the hopes of becoming America's Next Top Model.

The first name I am going to call is...

If you ever wonder what I do with my life besides draw and picture Mandi as a little green bug...now you know. My friends and I take inspiration from a little show called America's Next Top Model (as mentioned above). We've done a photo shoot before and decided to do it again.

Each model was given a stereotyped group to represent. Like puck, goth, emo, preppry etc. Each model had 10 frames. Each model was coached by Jay. Not Jay Manuel but Jay as in Janet. "More sass, move your head, you look fat when you stand like that, more pucker less pout." Her words were motivating.

Afterwords I made each look like a magazine cover just for kicks. There is one gentleman who is not a magazine cover yet...we'll just say that's because he got booted off this round.
so back to the show...

...the first name I am going to call is...

Cary.

(preppy)
Cary you will continue on in becoming America's Next Top Model.

The next name I'm going to call is...Janet.

(jock)
Congratulations Janet you will continue on in the quest to become America's Next Top Model.

The third name I'm going to call is...Whitney.

(girl prep)
Congratulations Whitney, you will continue on in the competition to become America's next top model.

Will Dave and Melani please step forward. I only have one photo left in my hands. This photo represents the person who will continue on in the competition. The person's whose photo I do not have must immediately pack there bags and leave.

Dave you are in the bottom two because the judges feel you are to shy. They see great picture but when you stand in front of them they see a nervous little boy.

Melani you are in the bottom two because your photo this week was not as strong. The judges see a beautiful, lively girl but wonder if you know how to pose the best for a photo.

So who did we choose, the person who takes beautiful pictures but in person we don't understand or the person who has a great personality but struggles with pictures.

The last name I'm going to call and the person who will continue on in the hopes of becoming America's Next Top model is...

...beat...

....another beat...

...and yet another one.

...Melani.

(punk)
Here's Dave's picture even though he lost....

Brad Pitt-ish...2009

This is Brad. I was in a long-nose fase. So his nose is a might long. Oops...but overall I like it. I like his jacket and eyes...that nose just taunts me though. I just used mechanical pencils.

Random Fact: I also enjoy Keane very much. They are a band from Britain.

Baseball Player...2009

This gent I just did in church...so I wasn't looking at anything...so it isn't great. I was a little angry at the time, and lo and behold he looked angry. I just used a mechanical pencil. I like his lips and hat and the eye scar.

Random Fact: New favoite singer...Brendan James. Look him up and love him.

Band of Brothers...again...2009

Seriously people I am just on a BOB/WWII kick. I can't get enough! I just love this photo...how they are helping eachother out.
Random fact about my life: I find I enjoy a good cheese, salami, mayo, mustard sandwhich. It's a little of heaven here on earth. And life is just good...ya know? No matter where you are you can have peace. What a great gift. Happiness doesn't depend on what is happening to you...it's what you make of life that brings happiness and peace. Does that make sense?

Army Fellow...2009

I did this fellow from a Band of Brothers still. I used this new charcol pencil I got at the BYU bookstore. This is a quicker drawing but I do like it. I like how he looks kind-of sad.

Random Thought: I am getting much more athletic these days. I actually participate in sports. This is a big thing for me. And I just enjoy a great game of water basketball.

Stretching...2009

This is me practicing the human body. It is just a smaller, quicker (is that a word) drawing. I used a picture of Michael Phelps stretching as a guide. I really like the hands. Just in case you can't tell he listening to head phones. Overall I think this is okay. Some of it is really dispoportionate, but oh well. I just used a regular pencil.

Random Fact about my Life: I really like driving to my parents house. It is an hour drive where I can think and sing really loudly to myself.

Young Man with muscley arm...2009

So I went through a faze where I was just doing quick drawings with charcoal. I really like the way this one turned out. It was a originally a picture of Brad Pitt but I wasn't trying to make it look like him. His arm is back behind his head just in case you can't tell. I really like his eyes they look very pensive.

Random Fact about my Life: I'm on a puzzle kick. They have consumed me.
